More RITA
There is a new bar in Akron called Jox, it is a nice Disco, with the music supplied by Joey Romano and the manager is Barry formerly of New Dimensions.
I am not going to mention numbers but a team that ended very near the bottom in bowling was, oh, hang my head in shame, ACTION MAGAZINE, alas. What's all this fuss about Divine's new diet? If it's good enough for Dorthey Fuldhiem, it's good enough for Randy. Come to think about it their hair is about the same color. And I don't care what Shelly says!!
I have it on very good authority that Erin Fleming is going to do a remake of The Marx Brothers' classic "A Night at the Opera" entitled "A Night at W. 9th St Club Baths" staring Steve D. & Mike C., with Big Daddy as Harpo and Clyde as his horn. I can't wait to see this one.
It is great seeing Kenny F. back behind the bar at Exedra during cocktail hour.
A Man's World had a Uniform Party last month with prizes for Best Police, Best Military and Most Creative. Tom T. won the Most Creative Award. Which reminds me, RITA distinctly ASKED for Tom at the TOP of her Christmas list, 6 months ago!! Now Richard, I am not one to complain, but just how long could it take to wrap that Rascle??
I heard this one at the Troubadour Lounge last week, "A bird in the hand beats the hell out of getting AIDS". I must say I agree!
Speaking of AIDS, I bet now that the straights have found out that they can get it too, we will hear a lot more of them calling for a
cure.
My goodness, there is another new bar in Akron this one is called Heartbeat. It is a nice little lounge with a pool table and a real pretty crowd. Jimmy, who owned one of the original Gay Bars in Northeast Ohio, Myrtle's 5 & Dime, is the owner of this very nice bar.
Kimberly Adrian and Mona Desmond did another really fine show at Ginzzy's last month.
Doctor Rock's (Youngstown's favorite DJ) 50's Parties at the Troubadour last month were a lot of fun, it is kind of nice to go to a large dance bar, once in a while, and hear something other than Disco.
As we all travel to Cedar Point this summer, I recommend stopping and saying Hi to Harry and all the gang at the new Raiders in Sandusky. This is real nice new bar and just as friendly as ever.
We hate to see Ray C. moving to Washington DC but best of luck with your new job. Your Farewell Show at Keys was, without a doubt, the best one yet. Goodbye Ray, don't be a stranger.
I like the new Patio at Heaven and Mark tells me that they will be installing, a light show and sound system out there shortly. Disco under the stars, now that will be Hot!!
In a reflective mood, Ratchet said he was thinking about giving up men for Lent. When informed that Lent was over for this year, he got a twinkle in his eyes and bought another roll of tokens.
The weekend of June 10, 11 & 12th will be a busy one at A Man's World. Friday the 10th is the bar's Second Anniversary, with a BIG Party planned. Saturday the 11th will be the Midwest Competition for "Mr. Drummer Magazine, 1983". The winner will go to San Francisco to compete against a dozen other men from all over the country. Should be real HOT!! And on Sunday the 12th A Man's World will host an Outdoor Picnic for ACTION MAGAZINE'S Second Anniversary, with the ACTION staff as Guest Bartenders and Restroom Attendants. RITA will be doing the cooking, HO-HO.
See you at A Man's World, till then TA-TA
LOVE, RITA
Toledo Bowling League Starts
Cleveland's bowling season may be over, but Toledo's Summer League has just started. This 15 week summer league is a first for Toledo and though it is not as large as Cleveland's yet, the enthusiasm and good times on Sunday mornings equals that of the North Coast Bowling Association's League.
The eight teams meet at noon at the Reynolds-Corners Recreation Bowling Center to roll four games, and the competition is very stiff.
The standings as of May 21, 1983 are:

Mr. Blevins, Mr. Hanselman has asked us to issue a challenge to the winner of Cleveland's North Coast Bowling Association to bowl the first place team from Toledo later in the summer for the Northern Ohio Bowling Championship for 1983. We will all await July's issue of ACTION to see if this challenge is accepted.
